World of Warcraft: Strategy Guide Reviews by Gamers
There is a paradigm shift occurring within the gaming site industry. No longer are reviews solely the realm of the professional writer and or gamer. No, we have come a long way in this industry and that’s why the citizen journalist is now as valuable as the professional paid writer.
With this in mind, I tried to figure out how I could put this new paradigm into play. I asked myself, “What can I do to further this important shift in journalism?†From this was born WoW Gamer Reviews, an interactive strategy guide reviews site for World of Warcraft gamers.
If we take a look around the gaming site community we see how well this approach has taken off, from IGN to Gamespot, there is an online revolution that is user based. The sites now encourage reviews to create greater overall value to the site visitor, as well as to create another revenue stream. I see this growing exponentially, even into areas that we haven’t begun to imagine. For instance, Viddler video has begun to implement user commentary into its features. The user can insert commentary into any point in the video, and other users can point their mouse over that point and read the commentary. It’s quite an innovative approach that will grow in time.
