(Hamilton, Bermuda)—Michael S. McGavick was named chief executive of this global insurance and reinsurance company, effective May 1. Mr. McGavick, 50, will succeed Brian M. O’Hara, 59, who previously announced that he would retire by mid-2008. Now acting chairman, Mr. O’Hara will serve as chairman until his term expires in April 2009. Mr. McGavick was president and chief executive of Safeco Corp., in January 2001 to December 2005.
