Should You Have to Provide Health Insurance?
As the politicians jostle for support on health-care issues, they’re monitoring the pulse of the small-business community. And now the small-business community is upping its game.
On the Journal’s Washington Wire blog, Laura Meckler reports that tomorrow morning, the National Federation of Independent Business, which helped kill the Clinton health plan in 1994, is joining with some unusual allies to support health reform.
The small-business lobby group is uniting with “Divided We Fail,” a group dedicated to health reform and Social Security solvency.
Notably, the NFIB opposes rules requiring employers to provide health insurance. However, not everyone thinks small businesses will be unduly hurt by such plans, as this story explains. Some suggest smaller firms might even be helped by the requirements.
What do you think?
